Audrey Rae Peterson (nee Doughty) died on December 12, 2012. She was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, on August 22, 1927, to Ernest and Dessie (Drum) Doughty. She was united in marriage to John Richard Peterson on October 28, 1950.
Audrey is survived by her children: Susan and Paul Troselius, of Plymouth, Minnesota, Patricia Peterson of Ladysmith, Kenneth and Nicki Peterson of Delano, Minnesota, and Kevin and Shannon Peterson of Trabuco Canyon, California; her beloved grandchildren: Garrett Peterson of Merced, California, Victoria and Mason Peterson of Trabuco Canyon, California, Kate (Evan) Boman of Howard Lake, Minnesota, Simon Litke of Delano, Minnesota and Evan (Nikki) Litke of Honolulu, Hawaii; John's siblings: Clara Nelson of Hugo, Minnesota, and Alfred and Leona Peterson of Glen Flora; sisters-in-law: Bettelee Doughty of Costa Mesa, California and Jean Doughty of Ladysmith; 23 nieces and nephews and their families; many Doughty and Drum cousins; special friends Lavina Erke and Barb Collison; and her "bonus daughters" Linda Herrmann and Laurie Flohr. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her siblings Wayne, Leslie, Maurice, Donald, Rhoda, Byron, Phyllis, Walter and Erna; and her nieces Nancy Jane, Pauline and Sherry.
In addition to her family and friends, Audrey's special joys were her role as a Foster Grandparent at Flambeau Elementary School and feeding the children at Wednesday Club at Glen Flora Lutheran Church. She loved her students, the teachers and staff at Flambeau and Wednesday Club.
The family would especially like to thank Audrey's caregivers from Hope Hospice and Northern Bridges/Nicolet Staffing, her dear neighbors, her church family from Glen Flora Lutheran Church and many friends for the loving help and care they provided.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Glen Flora Lutheran Church in Glen Flora, Wisconsin. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Interment at the Glen Flora Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, memorials may be directed to Glen Flora Lutheran Church or to Hope Hospice.
