Caroline “Carol” Luella Weyek, age 91, of Bruce, was called home to the Lord on January 12, 2026, while residing at Oak Park Place in Wauwatosa.
Carol was born on March 12, 1934, in Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin, to Cyrus and Veronica (Rozak) Ridout, where she was raised. On June 18, 1955, she was united in marriage to James “Johnny” Weyek in Weyerhaeuser, beginning a loving partnership that spanned nearly seven decades. Carol cherished time spent with her family and especially enjoyed sharing hobbies with her husband, most notably countless hours fishing together.
Carol and Johnny lived in the Milwaukee area for 40 years before retiring to Bruce, where they spent 26 years. In her final five and a half years, Carol returned to Milwaukee to be closer to family. Johnny preceded her in death on January 20, 2024.
Throughout her life, Carol brought warmth, dedication, and many smiles to those she worked with at several employers, including MGM, A&P, Howard Johnson’s, Stowell Dental, Affiliated Dermatologists, Milwaukee County Stadium, and Blue Hills Pharmacy in Bruce.
Carol was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had a joyful spirit and a deep appreciation for simple pleasures, including gardening, canning, bowling, fishing, card playing, and polka dancing. She was especially known for her quick wit and intelligent sense of humor, consistently lightening the mood of those around her. Even near the end of her life, Carol continued doing little silly things simply to make others smile. A wink from Carol was golden, letting you know you were in on the joke.
A deeply faith-filled woman, Carol was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyerhaeuser. Her faith sustained her throughout her life, providing comfort, strength, and peace through prayer.
Carol was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: Dave Weyek of Milwaukee; Joanne (Mike) Halvorson of Twin Lakes; Pat (Jeff) Ballering of Milwaukee; Sandie (Jim) Wehrenberg of West Allis; and Ken (Marie) Weyek of Pewaukee. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her brothers, Don (Barb) Ridout of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Tom (Sherri) Ridout of Weyerhaeuser.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James “Johnny” Weyek; her parents; her brother, Bob Ridout; her sisters, Gert Colbeth, Dorie Salewski, and Linda Hennekins; and her beloved grandchildren, Kyle Ballering and Cassidy Weyek.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, and finding joy in life’s simple moments.
