Charles "Chuck" Mogensen

Charles Richard Mogensen, age 70, of Ladysmith, passed away at his home on January 20, 2026. He was born on April 14, 1955, in Ladysmith to Paul Jr. and LaVerne (Much) Mogensen.

Charles, known to many as Chuck, graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in Art. From 1990 to 1994, he returned to school to pursue a career in nursing, earning his R.N. After living in Milwaukee, he moved back to Ladysmith in 2001. Following his retirement, Chuck returned to his true passion—painting. He was a member of the Rusk County Arts Alliance and found great joy in creating art.

Chuck was a very kind person who loved spending time with family and good friends. He will now be reunited with his two beloved dogs, Buddie and Itsy.

He is survived by his long-time partner, Bill Roth; two brothers, Tim (Colleen) Mogensen and Ernie (Sue) Mogensen; and one sister, Carol (Craig) Redwine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jr. and LaVerne Mogensen, and two brothers, Bill and Ronald Mogensen.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026.
