It is with great sadness that the family of Edna Sophie McClellan (Kruppe) announce her passing on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the age of 77.
Edna was born on Feb. 21, 1949, in Ladysmith. She was the beloved daughter of Edward and Sophie Kruppe. Edna married Roy McClellan in October 1970, and together they shared over 55 years of marriage.
Edna devoted many years to a career in the dental industry and was respected by colleagues and friends alike. She had many hobbies throughout her life and enjoyed taking photos and sharing memories with her loved ones. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to her family, church and community.
Left to cherish her memory, Edna is survived by her husband, Roy McClellan; children, Tracy, Shawn and Patrick; grandchildren, Avril, Travis and Deegan; and brothers, Raymond, Richard, George and Ronald.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sophie Kruppe; her sisters, Jeanette, Gloria and Sylvia and her brother, Robert.
The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 5, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tony with Father Joseph Kumar Mayakuntla and Deacon Craig Voldberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, June 4, at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home and again at 10-11 a.m., Friday, June 5, at the church prior to the mass.
Burial will be at Ingram Cemetery at 12:30 p.m., Friday. A celebration of life will also take place in Mundelein, Ill., in late June 2026.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their care and compassion and all flowers and donations may be made to The McClellan’s at 6909 Miller Rd., Hebron, Ill., 60034.
Edna will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing how much she was loved!
