Obituary

Edna Agnes Patrick, 93, passed away peacefully on February 10 at the Artisan Assisted living facility in Middleton, Wisconsin. Edna was born June 12, 1923 in Hoboken, New Jersey where she met and married Kenneth R. Patrick, who was serving in the Merchant Marines during World War II at that time. They married on December 30, 1944 and lived in New Jersey before moving to Wisconsin in 1960 where they bought a dairy farm in Tony, then later to Gilman, where they farmed until retirement in 1994. In 2006, they moved to Verona, Wisconsin where Kenneth passed away six months later.

During the course of her life, Edna worked as an administrative assistant for Boardman Simmons Publishing Company in Manhattan, New York, and as a teacher's assistant in the Tony Headstart program. She volunteered for the USO during WWII, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, 4H, the Methodist church and was a member of the Homemakers Club of Tony. She was an active church member her entire life, most recently at the Sugar River Methodist Church in Verona.

Edna was fiercely proud to be a Jersey Girl. She had a beautiful smile and lit up a room when she entered it. She was loved dearly by all who knew her, both family and friends. She loved children and animals and all creatures great and small. But more than anything she loved her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her five children Kenneth (Kathy), Robert (Stella), William (Rochelle), Edna (Ray), and Thomas (Kristen); Nine Grandchildren, nine Great Grandchildren and her beloved dog Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her mother Rachel Hackett, father Edward A. Shopp, brother Edward Shopp Jr. and her husband Kenneth Ralph Patrick.
