Eric Carl Opelt, 46, died on November 13, 2023, at his home in Ladysmith, Wisconsin after a three-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). By his side was his wife, Jennifer.

Eric is survived by his beloved daughters Lizzy and Abby Opelt, wife Jennifer Belk, brother Andy Opelt, sister-in-law Jessi Riley, stepsons Aaron and Brandon Whitaker, and Caleb Farmer, father Randy Opelt, sister Julie Opelt, nieces Taylor Hartung and Katie Villiard, nephews Tyler Hartung, Ayden and Ethan Opelt as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his precious mother Darlene "Dar" Trybula, as well as his Trybula and Opelt grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 18 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith with visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting you support the local ALS Association of Northern Wisconsin or the Steve Gleeson Foundation for all that they have contributed to Eric and his family as he battled this devastating disease.
