On Saturday, November 30, 2024, Dr. Erik Andrew Ostenso entered heaven, embraced by his mother, father, and brother Ned. He died suddenly of a heart attack while driving home from his family's Thanksgiving celebration.

Erik is survived by his wife Chrysa; children Richard (Erica), Calista (Patrick Sullivan), Victoria (Tom Guidice), and Andrea (Evan Okun), and four grandsons Lachlan, Raylou, Johnathan, and Ziggy, with two granddaughters on the way; his siblings Nile (Birgitta), Roy (Celene), Zed (Shirley), Brian (Jane), Diane (Gordon Paulson), Karen (Mike Schatz), Ruth (Ted Tornow), and Beth (Mike Dempsey); cousin Tom Cheng (Rita), sister-in-law Sue, brother-in-law Phil Bayer, and father in-law John Bayer; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 611 1st St S, Ladysmith, WI. Visitation starts at 9:30am, service at 11am, and a luncheon to follow.
