Listen to Obituary

Galan Lee Lechleitner 73, of Sheldon, left this world peacefully in his sleep & went home to his Lord on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center - Marshfield, WI.

Galan was welcomed into this world on July 12th, 1952, at the Ladysmith Hospital to grateful parents Clarence & Marilyn (Gundersen) Lechleitner. They weren’t grateful for long as its been told that he didn’t sleep through the night for awhile! At the age of eight, his parents adopted Debra so that Galan had someone else to bother besides his mother. He took his job as big brother seriously by loving, protecting and teaching Deb the art of spit wads! Galan attended Siren school through his junior year joining Flambeau as a senior, where he graduated high school, then attended night school graduating with a technical degree in Ag from District One Technical Institute.

After meeting at a dance, he married Nancy Diamond, August 6th, 1977, in Hannibal and moved onto the family farm, outside of Sheldon where they lived, laughed, danced, loved and raised their family for 48 short years.

Music has always been a huge part of Galan’s life, high school choir, marching band, Barber Shop Quartet, playing bass with Dan Cynors Polka Band, singing with the Gilman community choir and spending relaxing nights listening to the radio and playing along on his bass. After marrying, he and Nancy continued their love of music singing for community events as a family. He was an active leader in the Cloudwalkers 4-H club and served on the fair commission board. Along with music he loved Jesus, holding his wife's hand, dancing, swimming, riding motorcycle (even if his preference was a Harley) going for drives, horses, freezies and root beer floats.

Galan will be dearly missed by his wife Nancy, sister, Debra (Saeed) of Greenbrae, CA., children; David (Erica) Lechleitner of Sheldon, Dawn Romig of Gilman, Larisa (Cody) Yoder of Elmwood, Bethany (Kevin) Lewan of Thorp, Amy (Peter) Albers of Spring Valley, Krista (CC) of Tony, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Lechleitner of Sheldon, Jeffrey Lechleitner of Elmwood, Timothy (Monica) Lechleitner of Thorp and Aaron (Hope) Lechleitner of Thorp. 34 grandchildren and 7, soon to be 9, great-grandchildren. Along with nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. He is joining his grandparents, parents Clarence & Marilyn Lechleitner, father-in-law Arnold Diamond, son Daniel Lechleitner & granddaughter Chloe Beth Albers in Heaven.
