Ladysmith

Gwelda Sue (Felton) Tucker of Ladysmith Wisconsin passed away on December 21, 2025. Gwel was born on January 27, 1938 in Bruce, Wisconsin to parents Truman and Grace Felton. Gwel is preceded in her death by husband Winston Tucker whom she married at the Bruce Federated Church on June 26, 1965 and most recently by her late partner John (Jack) Kahn. She is survived by two children: Winston (Skip) Tucker (Sheri Tucker) and Tari Sue Tucker, one granddaughter: Sophie Grace Johnson (Isaac Johnson), one brother: Elsworth Felton of Rhinelander and three nephews: Doug, Steve and Paul Felton.

Gwel served as PTA president, infant nurse, professional tax preparer, office manager for H&R block and Parthenon publishing, hospice volunteer as well as Queen Mom for the Red Hat Society. She also demonstrated bobbin lace at many craft events. Upon retirement she enjoyed living on the Flambeau river and taking pontoon and ATV rides as well as family vacations. In her younger years she flew a plane and delivered a baby by herself. Gwel loved going out to restaurants with friends and family. She was always up for an adventure and loved to socialize. She will be very much missed by all who knew and loved her. We are appreciative of the tremendous care provided by the staff at Marshfield Medical Center, Lakehouse assisted living, the hospice care workers and by her loving daughter Tari.

Visitation will be held at the Bruce Federated Church from 10am-11am on Wednesday, December 31 with services starting at 11 am. with Pastor Mark Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in the Bruce Cemetery.

Instead of flowers the family requests a donation to the Rusk County Humane Society.
