Jamie Ann Werner, age 76, of Ladysmith, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center – Marshfield, following a 4-month illness.

Born on December 3, 1949, in Baraboo, Jamie was the daughter of Fredrick and Kathleen Bliese. She grew up in Wausau, graduating from high school in 1968. Jamie went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1972. After spending a year in Milwaukee, she moved to Ladysmith in 1974.

Jamie married the love of her life, David Werner, on June 17, 1972, in Wausau. Together, they shared many cherished memories, including Jamie's love for gardening, fishing, and traveling. Jamie enjoyed taking numerous trips with her husband and family, embracing every moment spent outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families. She was deeply committed to her work as a pre-kindergarten teacher, having worked at Head Start and later in the Ladysmith School System until her retirement in 2013. Jamie was also a clerk for the Town of Hubbard for 15 years.

Jamie was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith, where she served as the chairperson for the Board of Finance and as a member of the church council for many years. Her dedication to her church and her family were unwavering.

Jamie is survived by her husband, David; their two daughters, Jennifer Gizinski (husband Anthony Gizinski) of Victoria, MN, and Trisha Schultz (husband Dave Schultz) of Minneapolis, MN; and her four beloved grandchildren, Lauren Gizinski, Reed Gizinski, Blake Schultz, and Brant Schultz. She is also survived by her siblings: four brothers, Rick Bliese of Wausau, Mark Bliese (wife Shelly) of St. Louis, MO, Andy Bliese (wife Faye) of Woodbury, MN, and John Bliese of Wausau; and two sisters, Kris Kleist (husband George) of Tomahawk and Carrie Jurgella (husband Jeff) of Middleton.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Kathleen Bliese.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith, with Rev. Craig S. Zandi officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
