Janet F. Kuhn, 84 of Bruce, died on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at her home with her children by her side. She was born on February 18, 1941 in Rhinelander to Harley & Gudrun (Brathen) Forbes.
Janet graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1959, where she was a proud Hodag and even was the Hodag mascot at school events. She went on to attend UW-Superior and a technical school, earning a degree to become a lab technician. She began her career as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander before transitioning to a lab technician role at Marshfield Clinic. As her family grew, Janet shifted her focus to homemaking. In 1977, she moved to Bruce from Eau Claire. She married Wayne Kuhn in 1985 in Bruce.
Throughout her life, Janet served her community in many ways, including as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, was an active participant in Girl Scouts Explorers, and was the organizer of the Monday Fellowship meal. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, participated in Bible study groups, and worked as a local Avon representative. Janet was a devoted member of several churches during her lifetime, including Trinity Lutheran in Rhinelander, Midvale Community Lutheran Church in Madison, and Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Bruce.
She is survived by 2 sons; Eric (Mary, significant other) Lundmark of Ladysmith, Brad (Sharalee) Lundmark of Cadott, 1 daughter; Kjerstin (Jim) Lee of Menomonie, 3 grandchildren; Courtney Lundmark and Nolan and Garett Lee and 1 sister; Helen (Larry) Keith of Eau Claire.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; Harley & Gudrun Forbes and her husband Wayne in 1985.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Bruce with Rev. Larry Sturgis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
