Jeanette M. Gegner, age 87, of Ladysmith, WI passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Sun Prairie Health Center in Sun Prairie, WI. She was born on December 11, 1924 in Ladysmith, the daughter of Wilfred (Bill) and Antonia (Tony) (Van Heesch) Lamoureux.

Prior to WWII Jeanette met Arvie Recore. During the war Jeanette moved to Chicago to work at Douglas Aircraft. After the war she married Arvie in 1946. They moved to Silver Bay, MN where they had one child Randy. Arvie passed away in 1958 due to heart disease. Jeanette and Randy moved back to Ladysmith to live with Jeanette's mother. She worked at Balko Trailer Co. for seven years while earning an accounting degree from Mount Scenario College. She then went to work at Mount Scenario in the financial aid department and eventually became the Financial Aid Administrator and Business Manager until she retired. In those years, she met and married Lester Tiews. They were married 19 years until Les passed away from cancer. She later met David Gegner and married in 1991. They enjoyed traveling, boating on his house boat and time with family. Dave later succumbed to heart disease and Parkinson's in 2006. Jeanette moved to Sun Prairie to be closer to her family but Alzheimer's would finally call her home.

Jeanette is well known for her strength and dedication to family, church and work. She volunteered much of her spare time doing church dinners, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, girl scouts, prayer partners, Rusk County Memorial Hospital & Nursing Home, hospital board and many more.

She is survived by her brother Leroy (Pudge) Lamoureux, sister-in-laws Rachel (Norbert) Lamoureux and Arbutus (Bill) Lamoureux, son Randy (Cheryl) Recore, and three step-sons; Don (Pat) Gegner, Jim Gegner and Charles Curry. Granddaughters Danielle Recore and Nicole (Kevin) Murphy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Adelle Lamoureux, brothers John, Al, Norb, Bill, Les, Walter, and Don, sister-in-laws Helen and Arlene, granddaughters Angela Recore and Christina Gegner.

Jeanette was a very sociable gracious lady. Always eager to initiate or lend support in making others happy. To know her was to love her.

Visitation will be held at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home, Ladysmith at 4:00 P.M. Friday October 26, 2012. A scripture service will be held at 7:00 P.M.. Services will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Tony at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 27, 2012 with Fr. Gene Murphy officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
