Jody Jerome Guist, age 67, of Ladysmith, passed away on December 6, 2025. He was born on October 21, 1958, in Ladysmith to Floyd and Elizabeth (Richer) Guist.

Jody was known for his tough exterior, yet those who knew him understood that he carried a fiercely loyal and kind heart. He was deeply dedicated to those he loved and was a man of remarkable skill, creativity, and strength. With hands capable of building anything his imagination conceived, he approached every task with ingenuity and determination. Jody was a protector by nature, someone who always looked out for the people he loved, and his presence will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his 3 children Luke (Diana) Guist of Hayward, along with their daughter Briana Guist; Connor Guist of Ladysmith; and Amanda (Mario) Estrada of Ladysmith, and their 3 daughters Jazmyn Estrada, Rozia Estrada, and Izabella Estrada. Jody is also survived by 2 brothers Rick Guist of Ladysmith and Randy (Caroline) Guist of Ladysmith, and by 2 sisters Patricia Potter of Ladysmith and Nitch (Gary) Styczinski of Tony.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Jake Guist, Joe Guist, and Mike Guist, and by 4 sisters Mary Sarkissian, Janet Nitek, Linda Bollig, and Dixie Potter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the VMA in Ladysmith on January 3 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
