John G. Bishop, 68, Bruce, died Monday, March 16, 2026, after a long battle with lung disease.
John was born Dec. 5, 1957, in Fond du Lac to John V. Bishop and Katherine LaShay. He lived his entire life in Ladysmith.
He married Mary McCann in Bruce, on Dec. 5, 2024.
John worked for the railroad. He loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and visiting friends. During deer hunting, he loved going cabin to cabin and telling stories.
He loved his special nephew, Cody, and his special four-legged best friends, Drake and Bubba.
John is survived by his wife, Mary; 1 son, Tim (Kyndell) Rick; and 5 daughters, Shawna Stone, Hannah (Joseph) Allan, Lenny Jean Bishop, Emily (Thomas) LaPerrier and Michelle (Jon) Westrum. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his two special "like sons" Jake and Justin, many good friends with lots of stories between them. He is further survived by his sisters, Lori Whittaker and Debbie Miller; two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Whittaker.
There will be a visitation from 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 27, at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home, 120 Fritz Ave., Ladysmith.
