When Jack loved someone, he did so fiercely.

Jonathon “Jack” Daniel Paulsen, age 21, of Eau Claire, formerly of Kewaunee, passed away on September 2, 2026. He was born on May 16, 2005, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the son of Jonathon and Rebecca (Bero) Paulsen of Kewaunee.

Jack was pursuing his education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he majored in Mathematics, with a research emphasis and minor in Computer Science. He was dedicated to his studies and took great pride in his education, research on knot theory, and the opportunities this offered for his future.

His love for reading and education brought him to many worlds. He had an impressive personal library and it was common for him to be reading several books at once. Outside of school, Jack spent time fishing, working on his car, “The Jackrabbit,” collecting sports cards and sneakers, thrifting, and following Wisconsin sports alongside the Red Sox and Notre Dame football. He enjoyed gaming with his brother, playing board games, Sheepshead, chess and poker with his family, the sibling group chat, and being a Funcle.

Jack had an open mind and a keen sense of observation. He had a strong sense of loyalty and stood up for his beliefs and for others. When Jack loved someone, he did so fiercely.

Jack will be deeply missed by his parents, Jonathon and Rebecca Paulsen of Kewaunee; his three siblings, Meghan Savoie and Maryssa Paulsen, both of Green Bay, and Brett Paulsen of Kewaunee; his nephew Ryker Savoie; and all who were lucky enough to know him, his brilliant mind, and his wonderful sense of humor.

Jack was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Christian Savoie, Grandfather Ted Bero, Grandparents John and Jeanette Paulsen, and Aunt Jackie.

Private family services will be held at a future date.
