Karen Schneiderwent, age 70, passed away on October 25, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and countless memories that will forever be cherished.

Karen was a loving, compassionate, caring, and strong woman who always put others before herself. She had a heart for helping people and a special gift for bringing comfort, kindness, and joy to those around her. Her love for her family and the people in her life was evident in the way she cared for others and the lasting connections she built throughout her life.

Karen is survived by her two children, Jerome Schneiderwent and Natasha (Timothy) Shimko; and her three beloved grandchildren, Jazmyne, Ahaziah, and Saphira, who brought so much love and meaning to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Jerome Geier; her husband, Irving Schneiderwent; and other beloved family members and friends who will forever remain in her heart and memory.

Throughout the years, Karen enjoyed many seasons of league bowling, sharing laughter and friendship with those who bowled alongside her. She treasured the time she spent with her cousins while growing up and continued to cherish those special relationships throughout her life. Those bonds remained important to her, creating memories and connections that lasted through the years.

One of Karen’s favorite places to spend her vacations and free time was a cabin on a lake south of Bruce. Those moments spent by the water, surrounded by loved ones, became treasured memories that she carried with her. The laughter, togetherness, and simple joys shared at the cabin created lasting memories that her family will continue to hold close to their hearts.

Karen also found great purpose in her career, working as an activity director before becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). She dedicated her time and compassion to caring for the elderly at two nursing homes in Ladysmith. Through her work, she brought companionship, encouragement, and meaningful activities into the lives of those she served, reflecting the same caring spirit that defined her as a person.

Karen will be remembered for her strength, her compassionate heart, her selflessness, her love of family, and the laughter she shared with those around her. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith where a prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Ladysmith with Fr.
