Lucille M. Henry

March 5, 1919 — January 15, 2026

Exeland

Lucille was born on March 5th, 1919 in Hastings, MN. She was a cherished matriarch and a beacon of unwavering faith who peacefully entered into Eternal rest on the morning of January 15th, 2026, at 3:43 AM.

Lucille married Allen Henry on June 5th, 1937 in Nail Creek, WI. She had 3 beautiful daughters; Donna Markley, Laura Jeremy, & Peg Pejka.

Her faith-driven spirit guided her through 106 years of history, and she remained a steadfast inspiration to all who crossed her path. Known for her open heart and listening ear, she was the person her community and family could always talk to, offering wisdom that only a century of Grace could provide.

Her long life was made "wonderful and full" by the immense support of her large, devoted family, who remained by her side until her final moments.

Lucille leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and a reminder to always make time for others. She is now reunited with her Creator, leaving her family with a lifetime of memories and the recipe for a life lived well.

For decades, she was a familiar and welcoming face as the owner of the Exeland Cafe. Her hospitality was legendary, and people traveled from miles around just for a slice of her famous peanut butter pies—a recipe that became a local staple and a symbol of her generous heart.

As a lifelong member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Lucille’s life was firmly rooted in her love for God. Her commitment to her faith went far beyond the pews; she served as a dedicated Sunday School teacher for generations of children and adults alike. Her passion for the ministry led her to travel across the state to attend various church conferences, always seeking to deepen her spiritual understanding and bring new wisdom back to her congregation.

She leaves behind a legacy of grace, service, and the reminder that a life lived for others is a life well-spent.

While her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds peace knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully.

She was a woman who refused to give up, meeting every challenge with a quiet, iron-willed determination. To her family and community, she was the ultimate pillar of strength—someone who never showed weakness, even in her final hours, choosing instead to lead with grace and fortitude.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & all of whom carry forward the lessons of grace, strength, and kindness she instilled in them.

Lucille was preceded in death by her Husband; Allen Henry. Siblings; Florence, Vera, Jean, Viola & Jim. Daughter; Donna Markley. Great Grandson; Rob Warner.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for the love and care provided. As well as; Nash-Jackan for helping with arrangements.
