Mary A. Schroeder

Mary A. (Christnovich) Schroeder, 81 of Hawkins, Wisconsin, died Sunday, March 8, 2026 at her home. She was born September 13, 1944 in Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin to John and Bernice Christnovich.

Mary grew up in Argonne, Wisconsin, she moved to the Milwaukee area after high school where she lived for 30 years. She moved to Hawkins, WI in 1994 where she lived until her death.

Mary was a great cook and baker and enjoyed sharing what she made with others. If you were one of the lucky ones to learn how to make lemon meringue pie, continue to pass the recipe along. Mary loved to garden and canned endless amounts of food that she gave away to others to ensure nobody went hungry. She took pride in her Elvis memorabilia collection, and in years past displayed her Elvis Christmas village at the Hawkins library. She loved her pets, dog – Dalton and cat Bubba. She is now reunited with all her pets that she adored that crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Mary is survived by her daughters Deb (Scott) Wallner of Muskego, WI; Penny Pastuszak of Southwick, MA; grandchildren Alyssa Hackett, Matthew Pastuszak & Alex Wallner, Great grandchildren Zoe and Conor Hackett, Sisters Rita Vanderlinden of Krakow, WI, Carol Hendren of Hartland, WI; Anita (Ron)Kevilus of Argonne WI; Brother Tom Christnovich of DePere, WI and Sister-in-law Sheri Christnovich of Oak Creek, WI.

She is also preceded in death by her grandson Jordan Wallner, Great grandson Everett Wallner and brother John Christnovich.

Special thanks to her care giver Emily Hartman and Emily’s son Killian, whose support and presence helped Mary remain in her home until the day she passed.

Because we want to honor our moms request, there will be no services.
