IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Sue
Timmerman
September 27, 1944 – November 17, 2025
Mary Sue Timmerman passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
Mary Sue was born in Chippewa Falls to Eugene and Kathryn Nicholson. She lived in Chippewa until leaving for nursing school after graduation. She worked as a Registered Nurse for a number of years and then became a nursing home administrator at homes in Neenah and Appleton.
Mary Sue retired and moved to the Houston, Texas, area when she married the love of her life, Donald Timmerman, while on a tour in Israel. Together, they shared passions for Model A Fords, Harley Davidsons and all things historical. They purchased a home built in the 1860s for Judge Davis from Montgomery County, Texas. They spent two years restoring the home, pouring literal blood, sweat, and tears into the project and turning it into a showpiece that was placed on the National Record of Historical Places. They took great pride in preserving and sharing the history of the Davis home and of the Montgomery, Texas area. The house was filled with historical items from the region and they frequently opened it for historical tours and hosted events.
Mary Sue and Don moved to Ladysmith in 2019 to be closer to their son, Joel Taylor. Unfortunately, Don developed health concerns and passed away in 2020.
Mary Sue was very active in the community at Flambeau Village Apartments, Rusk County ARDC, and hosted a Parkinsons support group. She made many great friends and quickly reverted to her background as a caregiver and was always helping her neighbors with their health concerns and navigating the healthcare industry.
Mary Sue is survived by her son, Joel and his wife, Sara, and their children, Madison and Bode Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Judy (Lloyd) McAllister and brother, Bill (Marylan) Nicholson.
Details about a celebration of life will be available at a later date.
A complete obituary will also be published in the Ladysmith News.
