Patricia E. "Pat" Buchholz, 79, of Ladysmith passed away following a short illness on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born on October 10, 1936 in Ladysmith to Audie & Mary (Lundgren) Christianson. Pat married Robert J. "Bob" Buchholz on June 7, 1958 at Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith.
Pat grew up on a farm in the Blue Hills as the youngest of 10 children. She and her parents moved from the Blue Hills to Ladysmith when she was in middle school. Pat graduated from Ladysmith High School and then from UW-Stout with a teaching degree. She taught home economics in the Wausau, Hawkins and Ladysmith School Districts for nearly 30 years. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was very active in church, Jaycees, Women's Auxiliary and volunteering at the area nursing homes. She loved to cook, sew, play bridge with friends and spend time with her family at home and at Boot Lake. Family was so important to Pat and she always wanted to help friends and family through cooking, sewing or just visiting over coffee. Pat will be greatly missed by friends, family and others in the Ladysmith community that she so dearly loved.
She is survived by her husband Rob, 3 sons and 8 grandchildren; Brian & Jackie Buchholz of Eau Claire and their 2 children; Samantha & Scott Lang of Stillwater, MN and Kelsey Buchholz of Eau Claire, Mark & Colleen Buchholz of Ladysmith and their 2 children; DJ and Jill Buchholz and Rick & MaryBeth (Elliott) Buchholz of Hudson, WI and their 4 children; Becca, Jackson, Blake and Jace Buchholz and 1 brother; Don Christianson of Bruce WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Audie and Mary Christianson and 8 brothers and sisters; John Christianson, Archie Christianson, Audie Christianson, Lynn Christianson, Bud Christianson, Nick Gostovich, Doris Witkiewicz and Elsie Skaife.
Memorial services will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 21 at Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwight Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith. Pat's family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the church.
