Patricia M. Olson

Patricia M. (Gudis) Olson, 82, peacefully passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Care & Rehab-Ladysmith.

She courageously fought a 13-year battle with cancer.

Patricia was born at the Ladysmith hospital on April 15, 1943, to John and Helen of Bruce.

After graduating from Bruce High School, Pat went onto Teachers College. Afterwards, she taught full-time.

Patricia met and eventually married Ingvald "Bob" Olson on June 12, 1964.

After moving back to Bruce, Patricia worked as a substitute teacher, at WLDY, Flater Plumbing and Northern Heating. Her biggest accomplishment was building the family business, Olson Concrete, with her husband, Bob, and her son, Andrew. Olson Concrete is still thriving today. Patricia was the accountant for the business for more than 40 years.

Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandmother.

She loved to garden, grow flowers and preserve food. She enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble with her family.

Patricia is survived by her son, Andrew (Jodie) Olson of Bruce; daughter, Cathie (Dan) Hinkle; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John "Mick" of Bruce, Dan (Ann) Gudis of Bruce and Robert "Bobby" Gudis of Bruce; sister, Delores Wester of Bruce; three nephews, Jason, Justin and Jilles Gudis of Bruce and two nieces, Jolene Fuglsang and Janelle Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Gudis; her husband, Ingvald "Bob" Olson; daughter, Patrice "Patti" Olson and her nephew, Scott Gudis.

There will be a memorial mass on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Ladysmith, officiated by Fr. Richard Rheinhart and Deacon Doug Sorenson.
