Shirley Ann Bodner, age 67, of Exeland, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 26, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center - Ladysmith. She was born on July 16, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Vane & Elvira (Anderson) McElhaney, both of whom preceded her in death.
Shirley spent her early years in Minnesota and later made her home in Exeland, Wisconsin, where she had lived since 1990. On October 28, 1978, she was united in marriage to Michael Bodner, Sr. in Minneapolis. Their marriage was one of devotion and love until his passing on April 5, 2023.
She was a faithful member of Living Faith Church in Exeland, where she found comfort, fellowship, and spiritual fulfillment.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family. Shirley is survived by her children, Michael Bodner, Jr. of Bruce, Wisconsin; Christopher Bodner of Barron, Wisconsin; and Jessica Rudi of Winter, Wisconsin. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by 1 brother, Dwight McElhaney of Big Lake, Minnesota; and 1 sister, Michelle Steiner of Brook Park, Minnesota.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Vane & Elvira McElhaney; her beloved husband Michael, Sr.; a daughter, Marjorie Lynn Bodner; 2 brothers, Vane McElhaney, Jr. and David McElhaney; and 2 sisters, Loretta Peterson and Beverly Clyde.
