Stanley Joe Mujwid, 80, of Rice Lake passed away at his home on January 22, 2026. He was born on June 22,1945 in Rice Lake to Joseph and Irene (Ludwikowski) Mujwid.
Stanley was a May 1963 graduate of Weyerhaeuser High School. In September of 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and specialized as a Radio Tech. He was honorably discharged in April of 1966 and in the fall, Stanley enrolled at Superior State College, spending two years there. He started his career in Chicago in early 1969.
He and Donna Kisieleski were married in August of 1973 in Chicago. They lived for several years there before relocating to Rochester, MN. In 2017 they moved to Rice Lake. Donna passed away in 2018.
Stanley started with and retired from Beckman Instruments as a Field Engineer. He was a kind, soft spoken, gentle man. He enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone. He loved his family, the great outdoors and life in general. He was a craftsman in that he did paintings, threw pottery, and enjoyed wood carving. Stosh was a man of many talents!
He is survived by sisters and brothers: Mary Ann, Katherine & Chuck Lynk, Richard (friend Sandi), Donald, Susan & Terry Miller, Kenneth, and Deborah & Rick Winsand. Also survived by sister-in-law, Karen & Sal Massanisso , brother-in-law, Elie DeCassis, sister-in-law, Sonja Mujwid, nieces & nephews, Sidonie and Christina DeCassis, Jeff Lynk, DeAnn(Dave) Dahl & family, Michael (Jeanne) Mujwid & family, Mark Mujwid & family, Nicole (Brian) Stewart, Catrina (Roy) Cole & family, Regina (Chad) Woolson & family, Todd (Rosie) Mujwid & family, Lars Miller and Tory Miller, Lisa Massanisso, John (Ann) Massanisso and Ben (Christa) Massanisso & family. Further survived by great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Irene, his wife, Donna, sisters; Dorothy, Janet, Dianne DeCassis and brother Michael. Also by his in-laws; Walter & Florence Kisieleski, sister-in-law, Tulin; nieces & nephews, Atilla Mujwid, Shyla Mujwid and 3 infant children of Michael & Sonja Mujwid.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Strickland with Fr. Ed Anderson and Deacon Tom Fuhrmann celebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 29 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Bruce with a scripture service beginning at 7:00 PM. There will also be an hour of visitation from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the church.
