Steven Jenness, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, passed away on February 20, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1959, in Ladysmith, where he spent much of his life and always found his way back to the people he loved most.

Throughout his adult years, Steve lived in several nearby communities—including Ridgeland, Rice Lake, Exeland, Bruce, and Ladysmith—but his heart was always rooted in home. He worked in a variety of occupations over the years, including over‑the‑road trucking and logging alongside his brother Neil, until he was no longer able to work.

Steve loved being outdoors, sharing laughs with anyone who enjoyed a good joke, and searching for gold wherever he could find it. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and if someone needed a helping hand, he was there whenever he was able.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Dora Jenness; his brother Larry; and two nephews, O’Ryan and Ricky.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Nikole Jenness (Guy Bernier), and his three grandchildren—Maxine, Ariah, and Logan Bernier—who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Ken (Sharon), Elbert (Colene), Carol (Neil) Menard, Gayle, Roy (Judy), Mindy, Neil (Dawn), Valerie (Randy) Hamm, and Ron (Judy), all of the Bruce area; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 10, 2026, at the Bruce Village Park in Bruce, Wisconsin, from 1:00–4:00 p.m.

A complete obituary will be published in the Ladysmith News.
