Terry G. DuSell

Terry Gene DuSell, 56 of Ladysmith, WI, tragically left us on Saturday, February 28, 2026. His passing is a painful loss to his family and the community who knew him.

Born on April 7, 1969, Terry spent his younger years farming with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Gun deer season became somewhat of a family holiday around the DuSell farm. Terry took the time to teach his three children about the outdoors which sparked a life-long interest in the hobbies they shared with their father.

After selling the cows in recent years, Terry’s focus became serving the community. Terry lived to help others. This was especially apparent through his involvement in the Rusk County Junior Fair. Terry spent countless hours doing the thankless work behind the scenes to help the fair run smoothly. He was passionate about helping the County’s 4H program put on the best fair possible for the kids. He was adamant about leaving behind a fair his grandkids could enjoy the way his children did in their youth.

Terry was also passionate about protecting the farming way of life in Wisconsin. He advocated strongly, through the Wisconsin Farm Bureau, on behalf of farmers, hunters and loggers across the state while serving as the Rusk County Farm Bureau President.

Outside of his volunteer opportunities, Terry enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. At any given time, you could find him in the shop working on diesel engines for anyone who needed the help. It didn’t matter if it meant splitting a tractor in half or rewiring a logging truck, Terry was happy to help.

Terry also found meaning in his faith, dedicating his life to God and finding family in his congregation at Keystone New Life Church in Cornell, WI. Terry will be missed by many, in his church, community and family.

Terry is proceeded in death by his father, Eugene DuSell of Ladysmith. He is survived by his mother, Irma DuSell of Ladysmith, three children Evan (Sam) of Ladysmith, David (Taylor) of Cashton, and Lexi (Matt) of Baldwin; his cousin Bob Lincoln (Becky) of Ladysmith; and 5 grandchildren.

Services for Terry will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Living Waters Assembly of God, W8857 Photio Road in Ladysmith. The visitation will be held at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow the funeral services to be held at the Drop Zone in Ladysmith.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rusk County Junior Fair and 4H programs.
